Monday 11th November - walks *** – Around Felixstowe including picnic on the beach – sunny periods.

With some sunshine actually forecast for today I wanted to head down to Felixstowe seafront around 6.30 to catch the sunrise but overslept and had to rush out in my slippers at 6.50 to drive down to the pier! I was lucky and made it just in time and got a few nice pics of the red sky with loads of open water dippers out, with the red fading and on sign of the sun I drove to the Fludyers arriving just in time as the sun made an appearance getting a few mo=ice nice shots and was still home by 7.30. I sent several off to the TV weather and was pleased to get another BBC Editors Pick and was hopeful I could get on the TV.
There might have been just enough breeze to foil but the wind was from the north and with an early high tide on the River Stour I didn’t have a venue, also I am still not 100% feeling pretty chesty and my heel is once again playing me up so didn’t even think about windsurfing, today is looking windier but once again not a great direction and we are meeting my sister at my Dads house to start sorting some things out so my long break from windsurfing is set to continue but never mind as the temperature is now dropping:(
I managed my exercises in the back room with a lovely blue sky outside, that always lifts the spirits, we had to get a few things from Lidl so I packed a picnic and we set off towards the town around one, then down past Harvest house to the prom turning right and stopped on the beach near the Spa Theatre for an very enjoyable lunch. With the wind dead offshore the sea was very flat and there was some cool clouds passing overhead:) Well rested we continued onto the pier before turning inland to Lidl and home for a welcome hot water bottle, cuppa and cake. I set a couple of pics of the lovely clouds to the TV weather and was surprised to get another BBC Editors Pick and that wasn’t used either which is really frustrating:(
Still a nice day made better by good spells of sunshine:)
